Annual Giving

The University of California, Irvine - Office of Annual Giving is the foundation of philanthropic support for the university. Whether it is a gift to the UCI Fund or a gift to the various schools on campus, gifts to the Office of Annual Giving encourage alumni, students, parents and friends to recall and renew their UC Irvine ties by making annual gifts. These gifts are essential in strengthening UC Irvine's ability to enhance existing programs. Gifts to the UCI Fund are used for scholarships and fellowships, sponsorship of research programs, enhancing computer hardware and software and to recruit and retain nationally renowned faculty members.

The Office of Annual Giving is a vital aspect of this university and a major contributor to preserving the high quality of standards of learning that UC Irvine strives to achieve for future generations of Anteaters. Donations to the Office of Annual Giving help to increase our alumni participation, which has a direct impact on the university’s national rankings. These national rankings allow us to attract the best and brightest students and enhance the value of all degrees received from the University of California, Irvine. As a result of the support we receive from our alumni, parents and friends, UC Irvine has continued to be one of the nation’s top-tier universities (U.S. World & News Report).

UCI Fund

The UCI Fund provides annual support for the evolving needs of a large university, needs that may otherwise go unmet. This fund allows alumni, parents and friends to assist in preserving a top-notch UC Irvine education for future generations of Anteaters.

Gifts to the UCI Fund provide the Chancellor with discretionary funds to support the areas of greatest need on campus. The UCI Fund helps assure that the campus will have the resources to respond to opportunities and needs as they arise. In addition, the UCI Fund stimulates change by allowing the university to capture timely opportunities as they arise. These opportunities would not be possible without the support of our alumni, parents, friends and community members. The UCI Fund typically runs from July through December.

School Campaign

The School Campaign provides annual support for the evolving needs of each of UC Irvine’s outstanding schools. This fund allows alumni to help give direct support to the school from which they graduated.

Gifts to the schools allow each of the respective deans to support the areas of greatest need within their school, while using the gifts to also help support new educational programs and opportunities. The School Campaigns help assure that each of our schools will have the resources to respond to opportunities and needs as they arise. Funds contributed to the schools through this annual campaign help to maintain outstanding programming, scholarships, educational materials and research. The School Campaign runs from January through June.

Phone

Many of our donors choose to make a commitment to give over the telephone when one of our UC Irvine student callers contacts them. Callers are current UCI students who call to keep in touch with alumni, parents and friends and to inform them about the progress of UC Irvine.

Mail

Some of our donors choose to give through our direct mail appeals. Currently, there are over 6,000 people who make pledges and gifts to the UCI Fund every year via mail. A letter is sent to all alumni, parents and friends with information about UC Irvine or the school he/she is affiliated with. A detachable pledge card can then be sent back to us with a gift amount and designation of their choice.

Giving a gift via the internet is the fastest growing method of support at UC Irvine. Donors can visit: www.egiving.uci.edu and pledge their gift via credit card or check.

This is the most convenient and fastest method of giving for donors.

Contact Us

Whatever the amount our donors decide to give is based on their own personal circumstances. Many donors find they can make a more substantial gift if they separate their gift into semi-quarterly or four consecutive monthly installments.
