University Advancement Human Resources
University Advancement staff members are guided by the values of teamwork, initiative and performance. We are optimistic, creative, intellectually curious individuals who are inspired, empowered and enabled to make a difference. To further cultivate this spirit, the University Advancement Human Resources (UAHR) team works with staff members and University Advancement management to create programs that help us realize our vision to “Become the Best.” We do this by identifying talent in our community, cultivating and developing professional skills within our organization, and stewarding our staff with concierge-level human relations services.
We continuously strive to involve ourselves in the talent management community of our peer institutions by being consistently involved in CASE conferences. In 2009, UAHR leadership presented at several CASE conferences including the National Leadership Summit on the topic of “Great Succession Planning + Great Professional Development = Great Staff Retention” and the Institutionally Relations Foundations National Conference on the topic of “Recruiting and Retaining Staff.” We also regularly present at the District VII Regional Conference on topics such as “Shaping the Future: The New Dimensions of Advancement.” Most recently, UAHR Senior Executive Director Christy Cates co-chaired and presented at the 2010 National Strategic Talent Management Conference.
The UAHR team has received multiple CASE awards including Gold National Circle of Excellence and District VII Gold Circle of Excellence awards in 2008, and a District VII Silver Medal Circle of Excellence award in 2007. In March 2008, UAHR was also profiled in CURRENTS magazine.
